I was born in Nashville to parents who were both musicians. We soon moved to Jonesboro, AR, where I spent my years until I graduated high school, but I was always surrounded by music, whether it was from my parents performing music, playing music on the record player, or watching 80s MTV (you know, when they played VIDEOS). Early on, I sort of learned how to play piano at a first grade level, but my musical training started with the trombone in jr. high. I made top chairs in concert, jazz, and pep bands and was ALMOST an alternate for All-State Band. I also had my hand at drums and guitar, but I've also been playing bass in bands since I was 16, drawing my influences heavily from Cliff Burton from Metallica and Jeff Ament from Pearl Jam.
I moved to Memphis in 1996 to go to college at the U of M to attain a degree in recording. Performing music is a blast, but it's also interesting to know exactly what it takes to make the final product of the albums that reach our ears and we purchase at record stores. I've been working at the store on Poplar and Highland in Memphis since 1999, and I've been exposed to many trends, styles, and production qualities in music. I have since graduated, and I'm going 8 years strong working for this store.
