I have been pushing CDs and DVDs for over nine years. Through name changes, friends, and some horrible in stores, but I probably wouldn’t change anything about the last nine years. I graduated from the University of Memphis with a BA in comm. and BFA in theater (Why?). I have two kinds now (WOW!) and I have been married for a year and a half. The toughest and hardest decision I still have every week is picking what ten CDs I need to put in my ten disc changer. Hopefully that will not change any time soon

I’m a big fan of music in general after I started to work in a record store I discovered I listen to mainly underground music or old music , I play in a few bands My main one is the antique Curtains and the Alpha Numerals I have a few records that have been release I also play drums, keys,and sing ,I like to travel when I can, I also work with one local record label in Memphis called makeshift music and I’ve started my on label O.K.Stars Records and when I get free time (which is rare) I like to play video games on my x-box or watch a good movie , that pretty much sums me up.

I was born in Nashville to parents who were both musicians. We soon moved to Jonesboro, AR, where I spent my years until I graduated high school, but I was always surrounded by music, whether it was from my parents performing music, playing music on the record player, or watching 80s MTV (you know, when they played VIDEOS). Early on, I sort of learned how to play piano at a first grade level, but my musical training started with the trombone in jr. high. I made top chairs in concert, jazz, and pep bands and was ALMOST an alternate for All-State Band. I also had my hand at drums and guitar, but I've also been playing bass in bands since I was 16, drawing my influences heavily from Cliff Burton from Metallica and Jeff Ament from Pearl Jam.

The other day at work I was asked questions by two different customers. I knew the answer to both questions:
Who composed "Madame Butterfly?" My answer: Puccini.
Who did the song "Lipstick On His Pants?" My answer: Sheba Potts-Wright.
Try getting those answers at Best Buy. That’s what I love about working at what some people still call a “record store.” (And Spin Street actually has those! Records. Vinyl. If you’re looking for 8-Track tapes, though, you may be out of luck...)
It’s great to work at a store where you can not only help people find what they like, but help them discover new stuff they will love.

I’ve always loved music, especially guitar playing. I own some old instruments that I still mess around with today. I’ve played with many great musicians in my life and I still do. Any weekend of the year you could see me with some other guys playing done on Beale Street. So, working in a record store is very easy for me, because I truly love music.

Music has always been a large part of my life. I started in elementary school singing and playing percussion instruments, band through middle and high school continuing on into college at Austin Peay State University. There I had the opportunity to play with many great/famous musicians including singing with the Nashville Symphony Chorus/Symphony. I graduated from APSU with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education. I am now working at Cordova High School and private lessons in the afternoon and I am a musician in the local Jazz Fusion group and Freeworld by night.

I love working at SpinStreet. It is with out a doubt my favorite job in Memphis. My favorite music is Hip Hop, I love Rap, because it is the only music that has been recreated in to different styles. Styles like East Coast, West Coast, and Down South. All of these styles have something unique about each of them. My favorite is East Coast; they have a great delivery when it comes to the rhyme scheme.

In the spring I will be attending Southwest Tennessee Community College where I will be pursing a major in Criminal Justice. In my spare time my hobbies consist of writing poetry and lyrics, listening to music, reading books, boxing and just being me! I’m also a lyricist, I write all of my own songs; I just love recording in the studio. It’s hard to exactly describe myself and my personality being that I’m complex as well as many people are.
